Turnbulls in the Hizzhouse.

Jeff's parents got here on Saturday for a two-week visit!  As soon as they got in, we let them take showers, then we were off and moving, insisting that we keep moving and not sit down for too long!

We did a walking tour of the CBD and showed them some sights.  We trammed it into Flinders Station, and got a good look at Fed Square and started from there.  We walked throughout the laneways and alleyways of Melbourne, visiting the oldest shopping mall in the Southern Hemisphere (the Block Arcade) and generally gave them a good feel for the tram system, cafes, and streets of Melbourne.

Famed Flinders Street Station.

Tea Room where we got some afternoon sweets.
Creepy protectors in the Block Arcade.
The City of Melbourne Building...could use a power washing.
At the beginning of the year, Jeff and I did a laneways tour, which highlighted some of the street art/graffiti in Melbourne, and today, we found a bunch of kids being mentored in street art...not something that I'd think of when I think of mentoring, but they looked like they were enjoying it.
Mentoring the Street Art hipsters...to give the
alley more of a "finished" feel.

Hopefully the fire department will be able to find the stop valve...it's pretty
well camouflaged.
While we were at Fed Square, enjoying our sweets from the Tea Room, we noticed this guy, Arizona Jones:
We watched him for about 30 minutes, trying to figure out what he
was going to do.  We were disappointed in the performance in the end.
Contemplating his act...
He was a street performer that had a pretty involved set-up - for juggling flaming sticks.  He pulled eight guys from the audience, including Jeffie and Big Bull.  They were thrilled.  Their participation included keeping the platform that the guy was going to balance on stable, and Jeff was used as a human ladder.

Apparently Arizona Jones was funnier than I remember.
Jeff, the human ladder.
Not good.  Not good at all.
In addition, Jeff had to dance around tweeting.  :)
Tweet, tweet.  Tweetelledee.
This performance was not without incident...Arizona Jones made a young Chinese girl cry from embarrassment, and Jeff and Big Bull came out with injuries.
Seriously, they all stood around holding these ropes
for 30 minutes, then he juggled for about 15 seconds.
BigBull came out with rope burns, and Jeff had shoe imprints in his arm.
